Volunteers are the life-blood of our organisation, helping out on a variety of tasks that contribute to enhanced protection of our native weka.
Tasks our volunteers are involved in include:
- Monitoring bird populations (weka counts)
Volunteers enjoy the picturesque scenery as the sun sets over Kawakawa Bay during a recent ‘Count’.
- Pest control (trapping and bait lines)

- Building and distributing traps.
- Community awareness.
If you would like to get involved in any of these activities, please go to Contact Us and fill in your details. We will be delighted to hear from you.
